As part of Road Safety Week, officers from Newtownards conducted speed checks in Comber today. These checks are carried out across the District each week to help towards reducing deaths and serious injury on our roads.

The Dunover Road, Ballywalter is closed at the junction with the Ballydonnan Road and the junction with the Tullykevin Road due to a road traffic collision this evening, Wednesday 6th November. A telegraph pole is on the road following the collision, causing an obstruction.
A 37 year old man has been charged with fraudulently altering a vehicle registration mark, going equipped for theft, no HGV driving licence and using a motor vehicle without insurance.

Police investigating arson attacks on vehicles in Newtownards on Saturday have charged a 37 year old man a 39 year old woman with arson with intent to endanger life, attempted arson and possession of a class C drug. Both are due to appear at Downpatrick Magistrates’ Court today.
