Community health provides a wide range of services at home & in the community, keeping people healthy and out of busy emergency departments. Despite their crucial work, community health workers are paid less than their peers in other sectors. #forusforyou
Last week, Our Health Promotion and Primary Care Teams attended the first Health Information Fair organized by Aging in Place. The teams provided resources to 35 seniors and one of our nurses checked blood pressure and blood sugar levels for interested participants.

The community health sector is losing workers to other sectors every day, and it’s becoming more and more difficult to recruit and retain the staff we need to provide care. It’s time to close the wage gap to protect access to services for Ontarians. #forusforyou

Thank you to everyone who wrote letters to the Minister of Health and their local MPPs this week. Shout out to Pinecrest Queensway Employment Services who completed 28 letters during their session this afternoon. Thank you for your amazing support! #forusforyou
This week, we have upped our letter writing game for the wage parity campaign. We are hosting letter writing sessions for staff every lunch and have created a table near reception for staff and clients to write letters to their local MPPs and the Minister of Health.
