Source: Longtime NBA assistant Jonathan Yim has been named head coach of Southland Sharks of the NZNBL. Yim most notably worked with Terry Stotts in Portland. He’s also worked with the Clippers, Lakers, and Hornets.

Wheels loved going to concerts/shows. One year we were in Vegas for Summer League for 9 days & went to 10 shows. That's just how he rolled. We met David Copperfield after a show. I remember going to see Don Rickles with Wheels & somehow I ended up on stage. Unbelievable memories.
Those were the days, Jeff. We had so many memorable times on the air. The three of us were such close friends and I think that came through on the air.
I miss the days of “Wheels At Work” with you, Wheels and Kenny Vance. It was a terrific show… Wheels was a “man’s man” and I enjoyed the banter between you guys. Sad day.. RIP Wheels.

Brian Wheeler was simply the best NBA radio PxP announcer of his generation. His passion & energy for the game were unmatched. We spent thousands of hours on the air together doing games & hosting shows. He was an even better friend & I'll miss him tremendously. RIP, Wheels 💔
I was just thinking about this. Was with Wheels that evening. He went to the ATM, got some cash, and started handing it out to fans who were waiting in line for Playoff tickets. He was such a generous guy.
4/15/09, 3:00am - Waiting in line at Moda for 1st Rd playoff tickets, Wheels walks up, says hi, and gives my friend $100, and says "go buy everyone around you McDonald's!". Genuine, gracious, and gallant! Rest easy Brian Wheeler!
