These acts are separate entities and shouldn't be brought to academic, especially in a situation whereby merit of a particular student is being given to un-merit student who are part of the acts, these act can jeopardise education standard of nations.
If people/group with these acts want academic achievements, they should encourage themselves to work for it, but using their powers to directly or indirectly threaten/frustrate/mistreat a student who works for it and achieves it should be highly prohibited.
