Happy 50th birthday Fiat 131! The last RWD family car from the Italian carmaker made its debut in 1974 the 30th October at Turin’s motor show, with 1,3 & 1,6 litre engines, normal or Special trims, in 2,4 door sedan or estate bodies. The car was assembled in Italy, Turkey, Spain.

Happy 55th birthday #autobianchi A112! The Italian anti-Mini was revealed the 29th 1969, powered by the 903cc engine borrowed from the Fiat’s 850 Sport models mated to FWD layout. The car remained in production until 1986, surviving one year to the all new Y10 #autobianchimonday

Happy 50th +1 day Fiat 131! In 1974, the 24th September, the Italian carmaker released the press images of its all-new midsize car, available in 2&4dr sedan or estate bodies, two trim levels mated with 1,3 or 1,6 OHV engines, RWD transmission. Italian production ended in 1983.

The beauty of decadence. On a courtyard of a 18th building in Palermo, there’s a true gem from Germany. This is one of last Mercedes Benz W109: a 300SEL 3,5, built in November 1972, fitted with air suspensions, front and rear power assisted windows, automatic transmission.

In Turin’s Mirafiori plant, 40 years ago Lancia started the production of the Thema, the flagship model that lasted until 1993. It came after the Gamma. The Thema belongs to Tipo 4 family developed from 1980 and shares underpinnings and doors with Fiat’s Croma and Saab’s 9000.

When the Brazilian cousins come to Italy. In 1994 & 95 years Milanese brand Innocenti sold the Brazilian built Mille in 3 and 5 doors. The trim is derived by the one of Fiat Mille EP, with some extras like the black fascia in the side and the i badge on wheels and front-grille.

In 1989, the 23th May, Citroën unveiled its flagship for the 90s, the XM. With a development of 4,5 years, the car was an all new model, from the floorpan to the styling, signed by Bertone, under the guidance of the Marc Deschamps. The car is a total departure from previous CX.
