La Traviata is a tragic tale about Parisian courtesan, Violetta, who meets romantic aristocrat Alfredo. In love for the first time, she abandons her frivolous lifestyle to be with him, but happiness is short-lived... Our telling of this classic tale will be available soon!

With the location we chose for our film of La Traviata we aimed not to recreate 19th-century Paris and its surrounds, but to give an impression, in a heightened way, of grandeur, faded chic and empty hope.

Felice Varesi and Lodovico Graziani, Germont and Alfredo in the first ever performance of Verdi's La Traviata in 1853. Despite their performances not being popular on the first night, the opera went on to become one of the most frequently performed during Verdi's lifetime.
