I just finished reading @elainehsiehchou’s Disorientation. It was incredibly relatable, sometimes uncomfortably so. Funny, distressing, ridiculous- I loved it. I think many grad students/ scholars in Buddhists studies will enjoy this one.
It’s sickening to learn that Myanmar’s junta has executed veteran democracy activist Kyaw Min Yu, aka Ko Jimmy, and three others. I met Ko Jimmy in 2005 after he had been released from a long spell in jail that stole his youth - see this extract from my book The Trouser People.
