Also ask about Light Rail for Galway. It is a viable option that reduces traffic, it is sustainable, and can enable growth. Let's get on track to the future @GLUASLightRail @GalwayChamber @EngineerIreland @galwayad

Smaller tree next year?

It is tight but now safe! We’re going to have to think this one through better for next year as footpath now very narrow but lesser of two evils I think.

Well, the putting a tree and fence blocking a Limerick city bike lane is going REALLY well. I stopped for 10 minutes just now: not the busiest time of the day in this direction at this spot but we still get ten cyclists+ forced on to the narrowed path or into traffic. Here are 4

Last year, some people were - rightly - annoyed that the fencing for a Limerick city Christmas tree had clipped a foot or two from the O’Connell St bike lane at Thomas St. Well, here’s the bike lane at Penneys where this year’s tree is going. They’ve blocked off ALL of it.

Hands down this small dropped kerb is my favourite active travel intervention in Limerick! It’s just past a primary school and the addition of a dropped kerb here transforms safety by bringing cyclists into the housing estate rather than mixing with traffic at the junction.

The ex-CEO Brendan McGrath parting gift to the Galway Citizen's and didn't even consult with @GalwayCityCo staff? It's not even a custom building. Very odd.

‘..annual repayments amount to €1.6m over 40 years, to cover the cost of purchasing the new headquarters – and that’s not even including fit-out.. by this December, the Council will have paid €3.2m in repayments for a building they haven’t yet occupied.’ #HowIrelandWorks #GUBU

There are 1.48 billion cars/vehicles in the world. That's a 20 percent increase in 10 years! We are driving toward climate change. #urbantransitions2024.

Don't really get this? e-cars still have emissions. My E-Bike has emissions - the disk brakes and tyres. Far far less than an e-cars. Tyres for cars ( regardless of power source )are one of the single biggest sources of plastic in our oceans.

Minister for Transport @EamonRyan announces the introduction of green ‘flash’ registration plates for zero-emission vehicles. 🚙 ⚡ 📰 For more 👉 bit.ly/4evCnZD @ZEVIreland

How bicycles help out in the emergency when cars have been destroyed or can’t pass.

A few of these foot stands would be a cheap little solution for those on bikes at the 🚦 lights along the Seamus Quirke and Bishop O Donnell Road cycle lanes (especially with all the cargobikes using it these days) Pic of the Galway Clinic road exit onto the Dual Carriageway

We could do with more European correspondents @rtenews Struck by lack of coverage in Irish broadcast media (have gone to ZDF, Euronews and BBC for coverage) considering the amount of people from Ireland who visit Spain and vice versa it's a bit odd.

The destruction we have all seen in Valencia is telling us something important - We are clearly in the grip of an incredibly dangerous climate emergency, writes George Lee rte.ie/news/analysis-…

Is there room to squeeze in another TRAM and Bus Bridge and then can convert the Salmon Weir into a 🚲 🛴 🚲 🛴 🚲 🛴 🚲 Bridge ?

The city's newest bridge, Droichead an Dóchais, has been named Ireland's 'Civil Engineering Project of the Year' at the Engineering Excellence Awards. #GalwayBayfmnews galwaybayfm.ie/galway-bay-fm-…
