The government’s solution to this chronic shortage of prosecuting barristers? A shortage they were warned about for years as they forced hundreds out of the job with incessant pay cuts and abysmal working conditions? Nothing. @DominicRaab is doing absolutely nothing.

East Midlands Crown Court, application today to adjourn a home-invasion robbery trial (from - would you believe - 2017) which trial should have been listed tomorrow. Reason: NO PROSECUTING COUNSEL AVAILABLE. Now to be heard in March 2024. This is where we’re at folks.

Mate. I am 43. Adore my job. As a teacher I pride myself on impartial, personal approach to policy. If I strike, it isn’t because a rampant red Union has forced me. It will be because the hideous policy and financial crippling Tory government has caused has made me act.

Nobody will force me to strike. If I feel there is no chance of the government listening and acting then they leave me no choice as a champion for my community. This personal attack in Parliament is a disgrace. Unions represent the workers and not the other way round

People cannot get a GP appointment, operation or an ambulance when they need one. Every day we see harrowing reports of patients suffering as a result. Conservative Ministers blame NHS staff but it is their failure that has left the NHS in crisis. manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-m…

This is the UK Govt's "Strikes (Minimum Service Levels) Bill". Removes people's right to strike for better wages & working conditions. Conscripts workers to break strike or be sacked. Govt to rush it through the Commons. Lords likely to resist. publications.parliament.uk/pa/bills/cbill…

Private GP charges patient £295 for a biochemistry blood profile which is analysed in an NHS lab. If the result is abnormal and it is outside of his hours (9-4.30pm weekdays only) I have to ring urgent care and the patient is brought into and treated in an NHS hospital.

I have been reading his books since 1998. I have never disagreed with a word he says, I continue to, to this day.
