Today, MPs begin a three-day workshop on Effective Parliamentary Oversight, designed to orient them on the importance of effective parliamentary oversight, particularly in strengthening the role of committees in reviewing performance audit reports.

Today, MPs begin a three-day workshop on Effective Parliamentary Oversight, designed to orient them on the importance of effective parliamentary oversight, particularly in strengthening the role of committees in reviewing performance audit reports.
H.E. Julie CROWLEY, the High Commissioner of Canada in Rwanda highlighted the importance of enhancing performance auditing and effective oversight, emphasizing the Parliamentary role in fostering transparency, accountability & improved governance in public resources' management.
Auditor General @AlexisKamuhire said the workshop is an opportunity for experience-sharing & enhancing the role of parliamentary committees in reviewing audit reports as they exercise a commendable work in discharging accountability, oversight & scrutiny of audit reports.
“Although the Public Accounts Committee is the one assigned to analyze Auditor General’s report, we resolved that it would be more beneficial to extend the workshop to all committees since they also analyze performance audits on sectors that fall under one's duties.” 2/2

The Auditor General, @AlexisKamuhire, received a delegation from the Libyan Embassy, led by Minister Plenipotentiary Mr. Adel M.S. Mohamed, for a courtesy visit. The discussion focused on the 16th General Assembly of @SgAFROSAI, to be held in Tripoli, Libya, early December 2024.
