I’m thrilled to share one of my postdoctoral projects in @LabMoehle ! We created a new mouse model of GNAL-linked dystonia which shows overt dystonia-like symptoms and hyperexcitability in striatal SPNs. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this work! biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

In this new preprint, Emily Twedell (PhD student) and colleagues identify a functional role for the inhibitory synapses between striatal projection neurons -- shaping striatal ensembles to promote healthy action selection. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

If you’re still here at @SfNtweets, come and see posters from @LabMoehle ! This morning Iggy presents electrophysiological and cognitive changes in the PFF model of PD and this afternoon I will present electrophysiology and behavioral data from our Gnal linked dystonia mouse.

Rick's dedication to curing dystonia is inspiring, and he will soon be a published expert in the disease that he and @TylersHope is dedicated to curing.

New lab preprint from the outstanding postdoc @Nicholinergic! Here we report new exciting data from a model of GNAL linked #dystonia that we have created. Most importantly, this model shows overt dystonic motor phenotypes, a first for GNAL linked dystonia (1/N).

Today we present precise detection of endogenous opioids using genetically encoded biosensors. Multiple early variants have been validated in labs, and we have now optimized, determined, and benchmarked the first-gen opioid sensors for both in vitro and in vivo applications.

New paper out in @NatureNeuro! Collaborating with several labs, we developed genetically encoded biosensors to track opioid pharmacology in the brain & provide powerful new tools for dissecting complex circuit-specific dynamics 🔧🧠 nature.com/articles/s4159…

Excited to have Barbara in the lab now as a SNIP student! She has worked for us for about 2 years now as a volunteer, and will be joining the lab after the summer as a post-baccalaureate fellow.

Meet Barbara! A senior at @UF, Barbara is completing her SNIP research experience under the mentorship of Dr. Mark Moehle. #SNIP24

I have been taking papers that seemed interesting from bulletin boards my whole career - this is what they were for in the math department. Are you telling me that people have been hanging up whole-ass papers for any other reason that to invite you read them?

Happy to share this @ahmari_lab work co-led by myself, @DrLizzieManning and @britt_lynn4, with critical help from @vijay_mkn and @DrJamiePierson! We investigated how striatal spiny projection neurons contribute to compulsive grooming in Sapap3-KO mice. nature.com/articles/s4146…

How does the cerebellum distinguish between sensory feedback arising from our own motor actions versus unexpected external perturbations? In our recent paper, we unravel the intricate details of the processes that unfold in the anterior cerebellar vermis nature.com/articles/s4146…
