If you support eliminating the Department of Education, you do not support our students. Period. @USEDgov provides funding for: ✅Students w/ disabilities ✅Rural students ✅Programs that make college affordable This would be bad for students, and bad for America.

"An Exploratory Investigation of Student-Level Factors and Perceptions of Safety in Secondary Schools Implementing SWPBIS" More work around SWPBIS and safety in our middle and high schools needs to be done, but this is an excellent start. Give it a read! rdcu.be/dPDjt

The intersection of systemic inequalities, poverty, and cultural norms deeply affects #mentalhealth. APA President @Cynthia4APA urges psychologists to extend efforts beyond clinical settings to improve community well-being. #PsychologyWeek apa.org/monitor/2024/0…

Proud of the students and faculty at UT for showing Hartzell and Abbott that they will not be intimidated.

Back at UT Austin for day two of protests. This one says it is both intended to support Gaza and to condemn the police response yesterday. The crowd is at least 5x larger than the crowd that showed up yesterday at this time. Peaceful, quiet. Very little law enforcement presence.

As I am prepping my annual review materials (IYKYK) and reading qual responses from my undergrad course, I come across this gem: "He is compassionate and willing to compromise for the betterment of his students' learning. Father Scheel is the GOAT." I guess I can retire now! ✌🏻

Let the celebrations continue! 🎉🎉 The title change is now in the Texas Register (page 7), so speak up and speak loudly as a school psychologist in Texas! sos.state.tx.us/texreg/pdf/bac…
