3 miles @PatchBirding after work. The list moves on to 96 species (3 more than last year) with a female Teal on @SingletonLake ✅👍. GS Woodpecker & Grey Heron too. Quieter across rural @Godinton Park with a single Meadow Pipit over, calling as it flew towards the sunset.

Marsh Harriers have recovered from 1 breeding pair in 1971 to 400+ now, a rare good news story for UK raptors. A winter highlight is watching them coming into roost, latest count 144. When blustery they take longer to settle, a spectacular sight as on mass they take to the air.

Dungeness: This evening's Starling roost at the ARC.

Another dusk @PatchBirding walk after work. A quiet 5 miles but brightened by a Kingfisher at the Hothfield Flood Storage Reservoir. 5 species of Thrush too with Redwing & Fieldfare numbers on the rise.

This is intolerable and, despite previous complaints about similar behaviour, appears to be getting worse. Between irresponsible paraglider pilots & dog walkers, birds don't have a chance. @Alexander_Lees

Following the kind comments after I posted some drawings yesterday, here's a painting of my first Desert Wheater over 20 years ago at Reculver (note the famous twin towers in the background). Like much of my artwork, I've since given it away to a friend.
