So Zlatan’s contract expires in a month…just saying NYCFC needs a striker I’d still take him at 41
400k for Malte? That’s now 3 outgoing sales/loans that don’t favor us in my book Taty, Heber, n Malte mainly benefitted the player. How we only get 900k for 2 playoff caliber starters but pay up to 750k for freese. We got Fleeced again last 3 moves we made
Nice idea, where is the part where u convince owners like LAFC to eat their expansion fee to risk lose their D1 Status. Honestly it will never happen u want prorel watch USL which will never happen because people won’t watch MLS but follow their epl club as if they grew up there
Soccer in the US doesn't get to this without a plan like this We need a comprehensive plan for how to grow local men's/women's soccer, rules reform at pro level w/ PLS rewrite, along with systemic changes on how USSF deals w/ solidarity, training compensation etc #ProRelForUSA
LAST WEEK, WE SHOWED OUT! THIS WEEK WE REALLY SHOW WHY NYC IS A FORTRESS! ONE MORE SLEEP. DC…YOU NEXT! #nycfc
Seeing a lot of takes on various players so far this year think the most important thing is we have had 3 games where we have consecutively have gotten better as long as we continue the trend we will be okay…and sign a striker before leagues cup
I mean does anyone know if Richie is potentially a striker or is this just Attacking depth?
Sources: Talks remain open for NYCFC to potentially add Richy Ledezma on loan from PSV. No agreements yet, but remains a possibility despite little movement over the last month. NYCFC still hopeful. Also, Real Salt Lake hold Ledezma's MLS rights so would need to trade for those

Sources: NYCFC in talks to potentially acquire American No. 10 Richie Ledezma from PSV on loan. Nothing done yet. Ledezma, 22, has one cap with the USMNT, a staple with the USYNT before that but injuries have halted his PSV progress. Has made 22 first team apps with the club.
Wasn’t NYCFC rumored with this guy I guess with James Sands coming back there is no need
Nooo!!! I love Sam and Allocation Disorder. Both will be sorely missed
Some personal news: Tomorrow is my last day at The Athletic. I'm moving to a job outside of journalism, but I'm so, so thankful for my time at the publication and in this business.
Mets having a soccer promotion day. Almost as if they like us more than the Yankees do. All we got was complaints from texiera about the field. Partly wishing the Steve Cohen was a partner over the Yankees.
Watching gignac play last night makes me want a 9 even more now
From a medical prospective this is a great move. It takes longer to do a proper assessment than the 15 seconds Atheltic Trainers examine the players on the field.
At what point during this season we break out the 5 in the back? I mean if I recall correctly we didn’t start winning until we made a formation change last year to 5 in the back. And I’d love to see a back line of martins chanot and gray.
Random thoughts on the FO not sure our FO deserves the credit they get on the transfer business they do. Sure their hit rate is through the roof but nobody talks about their timing. How do we never have a team ready week one and we have 2 shield contending years ruined in June.
Some good some bad for NYCFC: A point on the road in MLS is good. A point vs Chicago is bad. Sands and Santi just got here and are a little rusty. Still no 9 so attack looks awkward. Overall you take the point and know that soon enough this team is going to take off. #NYCFC
Chanot with the finishing a CB there. That has to go in…ugggh
Leading after 75’ on the road. It’s disappointing to be looking at 1 point now.
1000% agree on Ilenic. Kid is special!
#NYCFC HT 💭: Mitja Ilenic is phenomenal. His defensive instincts and positioning are near perfect and he’s a good attacker too. What a find. Chicago is awful, so this is a good matchup for NYC to build confidence. Good chances have been created but could get even better.
