Siena is the gold standard for polling in New York State. And what they found was that New Yorkers *really* want to keep their #naturalgas --> full release here: ny4affordableenergy.com/2023/03/01/pol…

Voters sent a message on election day- they want government to address affordability. We agree. Thats why we are launching an electronic campaign to demand a pause in climate mandates&a cost benefit analysis. Agree? Click and share the link below. ny4affordableenergy.com/take-action/

Looks like many policymakers are waking up to the costly and unrealistic energy policies of the far left that we've been warning about for years. We hope they have the courage to return to realistic energy goals and policies but only time will tell & their track record isn't good

Hochul may be waking to NY energy woes—yet won't fix the problem nypost.com/2024/09/07/opi…

Sure, I mean let's trust the same people whose policies have jacked up our utility bills with their unrealistic climate mandates to manage the energy system in the Hudson Valley. I mean what could go wrong?

As Central Hudson continues to raise rates, activists and progressive lawmakers are making a new push to bring it under public ownership – but organized labor is wary. cityandstateny.com/politics/2024/…

The deadlines are piling up because the "goals" are set in fairytale land. Instead of working on meaningful/ stable initiatives, #OnePartyRule went with the most radical activist proposals, even while many leading minds said it would not happen. canarymedia.com/articles/polic…

Just when you thought you've heard the dumbest idea, Albany says " Hold our beer"

They're coming (with labels) for your gas stoves A look at what's likely to be more of a push next year in New York -- warning labels about harmful health effects of gas cooktops. politi.co/4eiBEMp

Nice to see other people finally say out loud what we've been saying all along- we must understand and admit to the massive costs of Cap and Invest and other mandates. People have a right to know how much these extremist policy perscriptions will cost them& their families

“This sends a signal that the governor won't support measures that cost people money, and 'cap and invest' will inevitably cost a lot of people a fair amount of money.” Enviros wary of @GovKathyHochul’s commitment to big energy policy, @m_jfrench reports subscriber.politicopro.com/article/2024/0…

Ding Ding! We have a winner

Earlier today, Speaker Heastie on HEAT - “Let me just tell you what the main hang up is because a lot of times the Senate will pass the bill and bc the Assembly wants to look at it, we get blamed. We want to make sure that if there’s a transition, that it’s affordable."

Kill one tax, add two? 🤦‍♂️ Only in Albany would something so bizarre even be floated. #twilightzone

Hochul offered lawmakers support for NY HEAT Act in exchange for them approving tax increase to cover MTA budget hole left by her congestion pricing reversal, according to source familiar with the matter.

Correct. Diverse fuel sources are needed now more than ever in order to drive our economy & stabilize the electricity grid. Now is not the time to impose new & unrealistic mandates dreamed up by out of touch activists.

🚨The @NewYorkIS’s 2024 Power Trends report should serve as a wake-up call to every policymaker in Albany. If we want to keep the lights on, attract more economic development projects, & protect our people, Albany must reconsider its energy policies now. nyiso.com/documents/2014…

We agree.... on the first part of this statement but NYHEAT is not thoughtful in any way. Like CLCPA & the electric school bus transition before, it uses a meat cleaver when a scalpel is needed. It's costly ( though no one will admit how much) & it hurts union workers. Bad policy

"we need a thoughtful, well-managed plan to transition to renewable power sources, ensuring we can figure out the most cost-effective way to get energy to New Yorkers far into the future." Exactly why we need the #NYHeatAct

Gasp.. a misleading Ad from Heat Act proponents? We don't believe it... but seriously advocates have been misrepresenting this bill from the start, its good to see someone fact checking them for once!

A misleading characterization of the "obligation to serve" from proponents of NY HEAT, because the main effect is to guarantee residents/businesses can get and keep gas service when they request it. It is true that utilities earn $$ on capital investments to provide service.

Psst..... will someone please tell Liz her bill would raise rates on 75% of New Yorkers? 🙄

What a headline from @syracusedotcom on the National Grid rate hike! @NYSA_Majority has a choice - they can pass #NYHEAT and rein in our expensive gas costs, or they can allow headlines like this to continue another year. syracuse.com/news/2024/05/n…

Actually, this entire tweet is false

Passing the #NYHEAT Act means a more reliable grid and lower utility bills for New Yorkers. Now is the time to phase out gas infrastructure and turn to greener alternatives so we can create a more affordable and sustainable city. democratandchronicle.com/story/news/ny-…

Compromise? Climate extremists don't know what the word means. They are adamant about ending the 100 foot rule because they are adamant about ending the gas system & taking away consumer choice in appliances, heat etc.. it's their way or the highway.

Some environmentalists say ending the obligation to serve for gas is the top priority and has to be included in any NY HEAT compromise... Key Assembly Democrats do not seem comfortable with this idea, so it's difficult to see a compromise this session.

Circular firing squad... proof that you can never satisfy the climate extremists & that asking questions & thinking for yourself are akin to sacrilege in their eyes. They would have fit in well in 17th century Salem

Climate advocates plan to spend against incumbents blocking NY HEAT Act cityandstateny.com/politics/2024/…

OPINION | Don’t raise the N.Y. HEAT Act: It threatens the safety of all New Yorkers Until questions regarding its feasibility, affordability, and reliability are answered, the HEAT Act should be allowed to lay dormant. trib.al/cPIu7r1
