Essex Police Superintendent Tim Tubbs enlightened the audience with how their minority ethnic support network, MESA collaborates with their Chief Officer Group to make a difference. “The force not only talks the talk but walks the walk.” #nbpaconference2024
NBPA Cabinet Vice President Jesee Karanga welcomed everyone. He summarised some of the key messages from yesterday’s speakers. He stated that “racism is a deeply entrenched issue in this country” “We have a chance to make things change now!” #nbpaconference2024
Today sees delegates choose two workshops to attend around the following topics; Amplifying the voice of young people, disproportionality in Police misconduct, thriving as a woman of colour in policing & how the NHS are developing to become anti-racist #nbpaconference2024

A discussion was had regarding Police Reform across the world with @AntiTrafficker Nicholas Sensley, CEO at the Institute for American Police Reform. He explained the challenge is the system is built on an enforcement model #nbpaconference2024

Ex England Football player Eni Aluko provided an inspirational input talking about her experiences of misogyny and racism in her career. She explained that it seems to be more prevelant when you reach the top. Society doesn’t expect this to happen. #nbpaconference2024
