On 11/15/42 a fire at Luongo’s Restaurant in Boston killed 6 ff’s. During suppression a wall collapsed, killing the ff's who were on the 2nd floor & trapping others for up to 18 hours. As many as 43 ff's in the street were injured in the collapse. #FireHistory #NeverForget

On this day in 1979 a 4 yo set fire to a couch in the Coats Boarding Home for the elderly and disabled. The fire killed 14 women. The home did not have sprinklers or fire alarms, and the drop-down ceilings and open staircases acted like a chimney. #FireHistory #NeverForget

The Great Boston Fire of 1872 was Boston’s largest fire. It destroyed 776 bldgs across 65 acres. In a controversial effort to create fire break, bldgs were blown up w/ gun powder. Despite the size of the fire, the total deaths were only 13, including 2 firefighters. #FireHistory

On 11/8/18 the Camp Fire ignited and ultimately killed 86 people. Extreme drought and high winds allowed the fire to grow rapidly causing an urban firestorm to hit the town of Paradise. Contributing to the tragedy were failures in the emergency alert system and loss of cell tower
