This paper published in Annals of the @EntsocAmerica has got it all: poor editing of pics that were re-used without citing original sources (#plagiarism alert!), bad writing, even worse referencing. How did this get through review? doi.org/10.1093/aesa/s…

I also suggest iNaturalist! Here's a quick guide I put together on how to get close-up shots with a hand lens so they can record the small things. Uses a $20 hand lens from Amazon. Can get gills/pores/etc. We're planning to use this to help students get self-directed field time.

Did you know about the amazing relationship between Silver-studded Blue butterflies & ants? Caterpillars are taken in the nest, eat ant grubs, pupate, & emerge protected by an ant posse. Read about this & the Welsh endemic subsp on Great Orme in our blog speckledwoodwildlife.co.uk/post/hunting-s…

...meanwhile (see: twitter.com/MyrmTeam/statu… ) our #Liometopum microcephalum #ant 🐜 colony escaped in the lab 😂. How nicely they follow their #pheromone trail around and around our faucet🙌! It was easy to recollect them from this "trap"😋. #Formicidae @PankaSomogyi @EvoZooDeb

So, our public #Camponotus pseudoirritans #ant 🐜colony found its way below the gravel 👎😬 but they got flooded slowly and moved back to the Ytong by next morning 👍😃. #Formicidae @PankaSomogyi @EvoZooDeb
