#MomentsOfBeauty in #Glasgow: Fantastic quality of light in George Street yesterday making for a quintessential Glasgow scene with the domes of the City Chambers and St George’s Tron in the distance. The warm glow of the sunlight on the red sandstone is just chef’s kiss🧑‍🍳😘🥰!

It was a pleasure to be on a panel with @JudeBarber1 and @RuairiKelly_ talking to @KirstyWark on @BBCRadio4’s Front Row last night about #GlasgowHeritage. If you are interested you can listen to our discussion here👂🎧👇😉👍! bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m0…

It Wednesday and it’s Windows for #MaintenanceWeek so look at this classic #Glasgow corner bay with it’s lovingly overhauled sash & case windows with rather smart red sand mastic and repainted a handsome shade of Corporation Green. Simple, straightforward but utterly elegant 🥰!

It’s #MaintenanceWeek so don’t forget about your chimneys. The stone on this tenement chimney is in an aged and weathered condition and needs repointed. Acidic particulate from coal smoke also erodes the chimney from inside + watch out for the brick bridges and flues too👇👀🤔!

It’s #ArmisticeDay & the centenary of the #Glasgow Cenotaph so I’m giving a talk on 21 November for @theahss on Sir John James Burnet’s design and how it compares to the other war memorials he produced for the @CWGC If you want to know more 👀👇🤔 ahss.org.uk/events/the-gla…

Hey, it’s #Caturday and sleepy Luna says good morning from #Glasgow 👋😽👍!

More of the Argyle Street #ArtDeco #Greige being unveiled this morning. Look at the sunburst and the wave details 👀👇! Such great fun and they should be picked out and celebrated like Miami Beach Art Deco. Inside they’re disappearing into the bland and boring greige 🙄🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️🥱!

While I am so pleased @theAHSS were successful in their campaign to retain these two heritage buildings on Argyle Street (+ we are getting @UNIQLO_UK) who paints an #ArtDeco facade #Greige especially in #Glasgow with its weather 🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤯???!!! Cheerful colours only please 😉👍!

For those on the @newglasgowsoc & @GlasgowHeritage #DerelictGlasgow walk a week & a half ago, it’s nice to see scaffolding going up on Alexander ‘Greek’ Thomson’s ‘A’ listed Bucks Head Buildings of 1863 at 63 Argyle Street after it recently being declared a #BuildingAtRisk 😊👍!

#MomentsOfBeauty in #Glasgow: A good gatepost always gives a clue to the house to follow. This one for Dunclutha in Pollokshields is like someone carved a mini villa with big arched openings and columns into the cap. The moss adds the right hint of ancient craggy character 🥰!

Many thanks to @DaniGaravelli1 for her @heraldscotland article on the Martyrs’ School and the challenges facing #GlasgowHeritage. Anyway, in a meta moment, this is what I am staring at in the article’s photo = Mackintosh’s ‘Tree of Knowledge’ rafters👇🥰! heraldscotland.com/news/24687054.…

Hey it’s #Halloween in #Glasgow and #IronworkThursday so while walking through a normally sunny Govan, I came across this pair of Cthulhu-like “one-eyed, one-horned, flying, purple people eaters” 🐙 who were busy munching everything passing by 😳😬! You have been warned 👻😂!

#MomentsOfBeauty in #Glasgow: Autumn in Pollokshields = Pollokshields Burgh Hall, with its rock faced red sandstone "Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair" tower, glimpsed through the trees being warmed in the sunlight of a Glasgow autumnal dawn 🌞😊👍!

#MomentsOfBeauty in #Glasgow: The new white lighting on the @GlasgowGoMA really draws the eye to Artist Niki de Saint Phalle’s ‘Tympanum’ of 1996. The mirror mosaic is one of the most sophisticated takes on Glasgow’s coat of arms and can be seen from well down Ingram Street 🥰!

#MomentsOfBeauty in #Glasgow: the clocks have gone back so it’s definitely Autumn now hence the scene below which shows how the stone lintel from the Boys entrance to Townhead Primary School has been repurposed as a bench in a small park just north of Provand’s Lordship 👀👇🤔🥰!

Just wanted to thank everyone who turned up for yesterday’s #DerelictGlasgow walk and to @LyeThierry of @newglasgowsoc for organising it. I know the subject can be depressing but there are glimmers of hope too + I hope everyone also enjoyed #BrutalGlasgow @GlasgowHeritage 😊😉👍!

Many thanks to everyone who joined us yesterdsy for the special edition of #DerelictGlasgow walk. We would like to thank @MurphyNiallGLA of @GlasgowHeritage for the excellent tour. We've seen/heard both woeful derelicts and successful refurbishment stories - there's always hope🤞🏽
