Saw this first hand in Botswana. Celebrating the ban on Trophy hunting was quickly overtaken by encroachment of farmland into previously wild areas … land lost to wildlife and more wildlife/human conflict… and we know who wins that conflict.

Interesting paper from Tanzania, highlighting the risks of having vacant trophy hunting blocks, rather than actively managed ones, in terms of illegal grazing etc. mdpi.com/2071-1050/14/3…
