Mitten in London leuchtet erstmals dieser schöne Gruß an #Ramadan. Ich würde mir das auch für Berlin wünschen. Es wäre ein ermutigendes Zeichen für Muslime! Foto via: @mhdksafa

By age 30, you should have a PhD and be several years into a post-doc with no house, no retirement savings, and no long-term job security in the field that you’ve devoted the last decade of your life.

Academia has a BIG problem. The high workload, low pay, precarious contracts, and systemic sexism and racism are pushing people out. Their exits threaten progress on diversity, equity and inclusivity in the academic workforce. nature.com/articles/d4158…

Behind the smile and quick “I’m okay” is often a lot of not okay. Check in with the people in your life.

This is incredible. 48 year old Egyptian Paralympian Ibrahim Hamadtou who lost his arms in a train accident aged 10 in Tokyo today. Could have played football but took up table tennis “as a challenge.” How inspiring is this? (via @Ch4Paralympics)

No job is worth giving up your mental health. I once stayed at a super toxic place for almost 2 years because I thought I had no choice. When I finally quit, all I could think was “I should have done that long ago.” It took another 2 years to mend my shattered confidence.

Today, we start turning the page on a difficult year. The #COVID19 vaccine has been delivered to all EU countries. Vaccination will begin tomorrow across the EU. The #EUvaccinationdays are a touching moment of unity. Vaccination is the lasting way out of the pandemic.

What, if anything, is good about #SARSCoV2? 1. It is evolving very slowly, so making neutralizing antibodies and vaccines have a better chance to succeed 2. All of the recent reports support a solid B (antibody) and T cell immune response 3. There are no documented reinfections
