No matter what season I was in, I made sure I chose really good friends. I always felt like friendship was different than family, because you can’t choose your family, but you can intentionally choose your friends. You shouldn’t take that lightly.

Seeing what white protestors can get away with versus what Black protestors can get away with in this country is very telling. An awful day.

A Black MD died from childbirth. When Black women w/ a higher SES , education, and even medically adept are at a higher risk of childbirth-related death than a white woman who doesn’t even a high school diploma, I wonder when the entire healthcare system will take accountability.
