For the first time in Sri Lanka's political history, 19 women hv been elected to Parliament purely based on merit. They are not widows or daughters of male political figures. They are the women who were among us in our own circles ! Congratulations all ! 2/1 #women #SriLanka

Summary statistics from every #GenElecSL & #PresPollSL this millennium. It looks like we might see the lowest turnout since #GenElecSL2010. #Rejected vote counts would also be interesting. For more historical statistics, see nuuuwan.github.io/lk_elections/ 🇱🇰 #SriLanka #LKA

The Publish or Perish Game is a humorous party game about academic publishing. Players race to publish manuscripts with useless nonsense while sabotaging each other's research and delivering "very helpful" comments, Reviewer 2 style.

Got an sms asking me to check a delivery address. It directed me to a website with a URL beginning with sri-lankan-package.com. It looks like a Sri Lanka Post website but the URL just doesn’t look legitimate. It asked for my contact details, and the next page requests a payment.

How mad is UK infrastructure (outside London)? I'll tell you. A friend lost her job before Xmas. She has no car - never needed one before. But now she does, cos there are no jobs nearby. She just landed a job. In a car, it's 12 mins away. By public transport, almost 3 hours.

Just sharing that the British Council is giving access to their online library for 5k a year. It includes movies, books audiobooks magazines, and concerts. To me, being able to read Economist Readers Digest and Newsweek makes it worth it. I think its great value for money.
