Follow the path of the unsafe, independent thinker. Expose your ideas to the dangers of controversy. Speak your mind and fear the stigma of conformity. ***And on issues that seem important to you, stand up and be counted at any cost*** ~ Thomas J Watson (1874-1956)

Interestingly, you pulled me up from the depths of despair with a long message about the PhD journey and how I should treat it like a romantic partner. Too long to quote here. You also sent me the Andra Day song, "Rise Up" You saved my PhD and mental health that day

It was honestly the first time that whole PhD journey made sense 😀✨

Awww babe. You remember that???! I still stand by it.

The Iraqi Parliament’s proposal to lower the legal marriage age for girls from 18 to 9 years old is an assault on childhood. Girls are not spouses—they are children who deserve their right to grow up with protection and dignity.

Why should BCC increase its wage bill by hiring unemployed youths instead of harnessing an innovative & simple AI tool at a low cost (probably on discounted subscription) that will perform the seemingly mundane task of churning out updates and info from time to time.

This is rather silly. Why not use the many unemployed youths in the city?

So… are Zimbabweans no longer eligible for @CanonCollins scholarships?

He is exercising his right to freedom of association as a private citizen since he resigned. Meanwhile, your right to freedom of speech is un-infringed by him blocking you since you’re still able to express yourself. Seems he’s just opted out of being exposed to your opinion.

So I’ve been blocked by the leader of the democratic alternative, not for insults or any derogatory speech, but for expressing opinions about the state of the opposition and his leadership that, from this evidence, he probably disagrees with. What does this mean for ordinary…

She read you for filth… like you so richly deserved. You were being misogynistic in trying to police and infantilise a grown woman (who is an experienced politician in her own right) as if she is incapable of exercising agency without your unsolicited and patronising input.

Please musaipindira she will remain my sister

🇬🇧 Independence from Britain is celebrated somewhere in the world roughly every six days.

Reading the strategic framework of a global feminist org & every sentence resonates so profoundly with me. I keep going like “exactly!” Feminists really get it. Intersectional feminists especially do. Just the nuance, the complexity, the intellectual rigour, the range. It’s 🔥

Hi SuperMed, here’s something you can freely use tonight if you wish to, and I’m about to explain how y’all pissed me enough to do this… [thread-nyana]

Zimbabwean adverts 😔 Where are we getting it wrong? First i thought it's funny but taking a deep thought i realise it's actually sad.

Lol. David. Surely you are not suggesting that those who took a principled stance by opting to resign are at fault for being principled. If you’re haunted by your choice to remain in office (which by the way, I support for Byo’s sake) that’s on you. Own it. Don’t be disingenuous

With respect this isn’t factual. These seats went to Zanu because two distinguished MPs resigned of their own accord. Whilst of course Tshabangu was a contributing factor democrats handed these seats to Zanu PF on a platter.

An important thread, for any officials who engage with the public 👇👇

#MediaCoaching for Ministers: 1- Avoid impromptu live interviews as you can self-sabotage 2- Have thematic media talking points 3 - Tailor speeches to events 4-Have technocrats engage media often & amplify/reiterate the points There's a learning curve to a new role, don't panic
