Really happy to revisit Lake Clifton property where PHCC contractors knocked out MASSIVE infestation of Brazilian Pepper & Wild Fig. Had been spreading seed across #Ramsar482 wetlands for years! No regrowth at all! Thanks to owners, contractors for an amazing job 😀@AusLandcare

Had sobering visit to remote shores of Lake Preston the other day, saw extent of exotic weed Spiny Rush. Sad to see so many infestations but good news is that contractors have been working methodically through @PeelHarveyCC's #WetlandsandPeople project for 3 years @AusLandcare

Really good to be part of the annual @PeelHarveyCC @BirdlifeOz #shorebird count on the beautiful #Ramsar482 wetlands on Sunday! Had a great look at greenshanks, stints, Little Egrets and Great Egrets among others, saw some interesting spots near Herron Point as well😃@AusLandcare

Few weeks ago this massive patch of invasive Brazilian Pepper trees was still spreading seed out into Lake Clifton #Ramsar482 wetlands & properties as it has for years. Now it's gone whew! Normally no 2nd chance with this, it's NASTY! #WetlandsandPeople @AusLandcare @PeelHarveyCC

So good to see nest boxes up in the trees of beautiful Samphire Cove NR. I'm sure it won't be long before special birds and even phascogales move in. Well done Friends of Samphire Cove, Pinjarra Community Mens Shed, @WAParksWildlife @AusLandcare #WetlandsandPeople @PeelHarveyCC

Out at Austin Bay yesterday for annual survey of #shorebirds made me really appreciate importance of this valuable feeding ground for so many shorebirds. Such a privilege to watch rare curlews and heaps more foraging on the #Ramsar mudflats 😊

Can't believe these wild figs at Lake Preston!😱Started with birds carrying seed from nearby gardens, now a huge patch and dozens of small seedlings scattered across the beautiful #Ramsar482 wetlands, almost out out of sight. Even the paperbark trees succumb in the end

Nothing like bush therapy to stay grounded😄Million birds calling, insects going crazy under canopy of Jarrah and Flooded Gum along Serpentine River. Cute little grasstrees in full bloom too. All part of important long-term veg monitoring. What an awesome workplace! #SaveOurSerpy

Just love being out in the bush helping Jesse with vegetation surveys along the Serpentine River! Sad to see bushfire damage in some places with so many new weeds but heartening to see carpet of native shrub & tree seedlings 😀 #SaveOurSerpy @AlcoaFoundation

South African Pigface or "Hottentot Fig" is common around #Ramsar482 Peel Yalgorup wetlands, spreading into bushland. Often confused with native pigface (smaller bright pink flowers) but its big yellow flowers fading to pale pink, fatter leaves are distinctive.

Out checking results of watsonia control on Murray River delta islands and can't believe wildflowers that are coming back where watsonia used to grow! #ramsar482
