To understand how Zach Frazier was built, you have to meet his tough-love wrestling mom, his film junkie father and his coal-mining grandad. Take a trip with me to Fairmont, West Virginia. theathletic.com/5477459/2024/0…

Arthur Smith on Russell Wilson's moonball: "It's like if you had a pitcher who throw a 100 mile-an-hour fastball. That's his fastball."

Steelers DC Teryl Austin on Derrick Henry: "When you're not playing him, he's fun to watch. When you're playing him, he's probably not so fun."

Steelers DC Teryl Austin on Preston Smith: "Obviously he's a veteran, but he's not a veteran that needs a lot of reps. He understands the type of system and the things that we're trying to get done. For a lot of guys like that, it's just terminology."

The Steelers have opened Cory Trice's 21-day window. He's scheduled to return to practice today but remains on IR.

There's another layer to one of the sport's great rivalries, as @MikeDeFabo says in this fine feature on Patrick Queen. nytimes.com/athletic/59209…

Nick Herbig is off the injury report and in-line to play this week vs. the Ravens. Tomlin said that Donte Jackson (hami) would be limited early in the week but expects him to be ready Sunday. He DNP today. Other DNP - Van Jefferson (quad), Najee Harris (ankle), Pruitt (knee).

They're also notorious for not making "save face" type offers to their own FAs just to say, "Well, we tried." Again, you can debate whether they should have, but once the Ravens decided Queen would get well more on open market than they had/wanted to pay, they moved on..

Wrote in April that the Ravens made no effort to keep Patrick Queen. Whether they were right/wrong, they didn't think they could afford paying another ILB notable $$ after paying Roquan Smith and they prioritized retaining N. Madubuike w/little cap space. nytimes.com/athletic/53867…

Lamar Jackson said he isn’t sure why Ravens have struggled against Steelers beyond rivalry aspects of it. “I have a chance to go against them this year, so I’m good.”

It's been a weird year for quarterbacks. Patrick Mahomes is struggling. Aaron Rodgers looks to be running on fumes. And Russell Wilson... is 3-0? More, in our latest power rankings, via @JoshTheAthletic ⤵️ nytimes.com/athletic/59152…

With Alex Highsmith expected to miss "a couple weeks" with an ankle injury, Preston Smith's addition now looks even more important. nytimes.com/athletic/59175…
