In Naoros Village in Turkana County, revitalized canals now carry water to the USAID Nawiri-supported Nadocha Farm, transforming lives. Through a successful Community-Led Canal Rehabilitation, the community is looking forward to Increased Food Production and Reduced Malnutrition.

USAID Nawiri has kicked off training of staff in Samburu County on the Community Integrated Assessment and Action Plan (CIAAP) implementation process. The CIAAP process aims at enhancing local community involvement and ownership in decision-making and development processes.

USAID Nawiri, in collaboration with the Samburu County Government has facilitated formation of Samburu North Women Caucus Group to promote inclusion of women in security and peacebuilding interventions for nutrition resilience.

Following insecurity incidences in Samburu North , USAID Nawiri facilitated a chiefs-to-chiefs forum aimed at de-escalating simmering tension between communities, strengthening early warning systems, and supporting chiefs to adopt a culture of conflict sensitive programming.

Turkana County marked Global Handwashing Day in Lokapel, Lomopus, and Kakuma to promote hand hygiene. CCO Cathra Abdi emphasized that clean hands are key to preventing infections and improving public health. The event was supported by partners, including @MercyNawiri and UNHCR.
