Is there anyone that can answer some Qs about Xanthomonas growth and competent cells/transformation? We have a Xoo strain and apparently it won't grow in liquid culture and one cannot freeze competent cells!? Insight/suggestions appreciate from anyone with more experience. Ta

Sciencey folk- were looking to get a LIMS and electronic lab book system for our new gene editing/tissue culture facility. Sample tracking will be key. Any recommendations? Usual features to look our for etc. Or ones too avoid! Thanks all

I made a short video about CRISPR, how it works and how it can applied to crop research. I was really happy with the outcome and it was great to see it on the UK Genebank 40th Anniversary event website warwick.ac.uk/fac/sci/lifesc… or watch it on YouTube youtu.be/eXQQyWQ_GWo

My post about the strawberry genome on the PacBio blog! I am really grateful to their team for their help, this has been such a learning experience and it encourages me to keep communicating science.

A sweet feat! @ngelVerCru reports on the first assembly of the octoploid #strawberry 🍓 genome in a guest post on our blog. pacb.com/blog/strawberr…

I know that's the kind of thing one says just to be nice, but I did mean it! To any undergrad with interest for plant science, please keep an eye for next year's call. It's totally worth it.
