Amazing closing keynote with our @SDOCElemEd AP-PLT Leads! "Poverty is not just lack of money but a lack of access to people who can help you." Most importantly, "even on your worst day, you can be your students' best hope." @ManuelScott @ImpactFla #GreatTeachingMatters
What a surprise this morning to have Dr. Pace come to see our morning Math Masters program before school started! She even stayed to help check students work :). Thank you Dr. Pace for being an exemplary leader and making students a priority.
Walking classrooms today at Cypress Elementary, I observed WICOR in action! These 3rd and 4th grade students were busy bees! @Osceolaschools @SDOCElemEd @sdocavid
So, tonight I was officially transferred from Chestnut Elementary to Cypress Elementary. There’s so many emotions. To my Chestnut Family: I love you all, and feel so blessed to be a Stallion. Thank you to School District of Osceola County for continuing to support my journey!
Thank you!! I am beyond blessed to have started my administrative journey at Chestnut. Mr. Bressler was an awesome principal, and the staff provided me so much grace as I learned. Love my Stallion Family! #Stallion4Life Thank you the #SDOC for continuing to believe in me.
Megan, the Chestnut Family wishes you all the best as you embark on your new chapter and journey with the Falcon family. We will miss you!❤️ #Stallion4Life

Great to see the level of student engagement in STEM, and the commitment of Ms. Rios, the Chestnut Leadership team, and the entire Chestnut team! #EveryChild, EveryChance, EveryDay #SDOCGoodtoGreat
It was great walking with Evelith Olmeda, Director of Elementary Education, as we saw "eye to eye" with Ms. Bobe's students as they were experimenting on how the brain perceives images in the left and right eye. What a great visual and learning experience! STEM Rocks!
A huge SHOUT OUT to Evelith Olmeda, Director of Elementary Curriculum and Instruction, and Ashlee Langley, District Resource Specialist, for their support today at Chestnut. They put the gloves on and went to work. SDOC support is second to none.
Can’t wait to see the next production at LNHS! Mekensie continues to challenge herself on the production/technical side! She designed and created this poster!
Ms. Mason's scientists worked collaboratively to save Fred by engineering tools out of paper clips that can safely extract the life preserver caught underneath the boat and placing the preserver around Fred’s body. This was completed without him falling into the water. STEM Rocks!
A nice dinner date to celebrate this girls first days at work! Somehow I feel like I just got a pay raise! Here’s to raising hard working girls! ❤️
NASA, watch out! We are preparing our next generation of leaders in space! These kiddos were already sharing how they would redesign their rockets with their amazing teachers! @JanetTafel @brewer_cbrewer
Today, our 3-5 grade NASA scientists and engineers at Chestnut Elementary had the opportunity to launch their rockets as a finale to an exciting week of STEaM Camp! Thank you to our 5th grade teachers, Ms. Tafel and Ms. Mason, as well as Mr. Trombley and Ms. Long!
And…the wait is over! Here are some future engineers creating rovers for Mars lead by one of our fantastic 5th grade duos - Ms. Tafel and Ms. Mason!
Today, our STEAM Camp Scientists engineered a rover that can be used to explore the surface of Mars as we learned more about NASA's current mission perseverance.
What an AWESOME first day of our summer programs! They headed to Mars today, so stay tuned for more pictures!
Our STEAM Camp students are preparing for their space mission this summer! Today, they engineered space helmets and boots to keep them safe on their voyage.
Loved seeing future engineers in action!!
Today, Ms. Ramotar's kindergarten class became automotive engineers as they constructed their own vehicles. The designs were then tested repeatedly for aeroodynamics and revisions were made. Tesla Motors has their future engineers preparing for tomorrow at Chestnut Elementary.
Congratulations to the cast and crew of Little Women from Lake Nona High School tonight. I’m especially proud of Mekensie and her theater accomplishments this year! Thank you OCPS for appreciating and supporting arts programs. It has truly impacted her. ❤️
Mekensie branched out of her comfort zone for this production to do publicity design. Here’s her design for the show’s poster! Couldn’t be more proud of her! ❤️
I feel so blessed to work and learn aside Melissa! The real winners are the students who get to work with her! Thanks Melissa for your everlasting impact at Chestnut!
It was a great night to celebrate education in Osceola County. We are so proud of Melissa Maldonado, Literacy Coach, for her commitment and passion for the students and staff of Chestnut Elementary. A Top 10 finalist for Teacher of the Year and a WINNER every day for our kids!!❤
