That's the raw 3d scan quality I like to see #photogrammetry #3Dscanning #photometry

This setup would consist of exactly *three* nodes in any other node system. Yet, somehow we decided that basic math operations in blender should not work on vectors. I encounter this almost every time I work with nodes in blender. #b3d #nodes

Is it possible to paint normal maps in #marmoset toolbag 5? I'm trying to replace a normal map from loaded material by overpainting it with specific normal color but seems there is missing "replace" blending mode? @marmosetco

Scanning large surface with PBR maps? No problem! Still polishing the methodologies and approach but initial tests are very promising. Here is a 130 x 50 cm tabletop, tricky reflective surface especially if we are aiming for smooth reconstruction.

Did you know you can import meshes to Blender using drag and drop? #b3d

I'm experimenting a bit with #marmoset for rendering, it has python API and looks like potentially good solution to generate quick and automated previews next to Blender. One of our recent 3D scans with full PBR materials stack.

Great news for the entire Blender community! I am happy to announce that I received an Epic Mega Grant to finish integration of SLIM into the Blender official codebase (so that it is free for everyone). And now the task is done: uvpackmaster.com/slim/ #b3d #Blender3d #3dcg

New scan sample, old wooden container scanned using our advanced robotic scanner developed at @INVOLV3D_ and @inciprocal software for PBR material processing. You can literally smell this wood! #3dscanning #pbr #b3d

Some new 3D scanning experiments. This time asset was processed with software from @inciprocal Such scans can be used in many ways but also as a realistic texture reference for 3D Artists. Are you interested in more such references? #photogrammetry #photometry #b3d

I always wanted to implement custom structured light scanner into my 3d scanning robot and recently had some time to do the research. Gray codes + phase shift works fine so far on synthetic images, most heavy computations done on #cuda #structuredlight #3dscanning #sls

Roughness prediction in shadowed areas is much better now. Not shadowed areas are also opimized closer to reality so that's a total win. #pbr #solver #photometricstereo
