📢New paper alert 📢 Our latest study investigates natural convection and particle ejection in single-pit corrosion on stainless steel. Discover how fluid dynamics play a role in pitting mechanisms and bulk solution changes! doi.org/10.1016/j.cors…
Some of the group at the 2024 ECS Montreal Student Chapter Symposium! Fun fact: Scott and Jashan helped organize the symposium! (Pictured: first on the left in the backrow (scott) and front row middle (jashan)
🚨New paper alert 🚨 Our paper explores the quantitative interpretation of potentiodynamic polarization curves in scanning electrochemical cell microscopy, a tool for examining localized corrosion kinetics. Check it out! pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac…
Check out what we've been up to lately! The Mauzeroll Group has been busy! Pictured below is some of our team at the 75th Annual Meeting of the International Society of Electrochemistry!
🚨New paper alert!🚨Are you interested in bio-inspired materials? 🌊 Our recent publication discusses the importance of pH in the formation of mussel byssus and mussel-inspired hydrogels using microelectrodes! @Changyue5058 @BioinspiredMatt doi.org/10.1002/adfm.2…
Check out Nathaniel’s latest publication on fitting reactive features from SECM images with finite element method (FEM) modelling! pubs.acs.org/doi/full/10.10…
Although I wasn’t able to make it to CSC 2024, it’s nice to see that my science family was hanging out together! ☺️
I had a wonderful time speaking about SECM experimental design at Pittcon! It was also super nice seeing past members of the Bard group 🧑🔬 #Pittcon2024
We held a Mauzeroll-Schougaard lab potluck yesterday with our second hot sauce competition… some faired better than others as you can see! 🥵🌶️ #dabomb
Dr. Gerald Frankel and Dr. Yolanda Hedberg join CORROSION journal for the first episode in a special series exploring corrosion and health to discuss metals and coatings with toxic effects on the body. Listen to the full episode at ow.ly/pBV050Qsk7T
Check out our recent publication, which investigates the microstructure of laser powder bed fused martensitic M789 stainless steel. ⚒️ Congrats Sarah 🎉 #corrosion #stainlesssteel sciencedirect.com/science/articl…
Have you ever heard of Quatsomes? 🧐 If you’re interested in self-assembled vesicles, then check out our recent publication characterizing quatsomes and their ability to eradicate biofilms! 🧫 pubs.acs.org/doi/abs/10.102…
Check out our Research Highlight in Nature about recent graduate Jeremy’s work detecting Li ion movement in batteries during (dis)charging by XRF! nature.com/articles/d4158…
Congrats to our group member Maddison Eisnor for receiving the Tyler Lewis Clean Energy Research Foundation Scholarship! 🎉 Maddy is currently using SECCM to analyze TNO anode materials 🔋@McGillChemistry
Our group was very humbled to accept the Prix Regroupements sectoriels de Recherche industruelle (RSRI) award with our HygroQuebec partners out of the CRITM category. Thank you to ADRIQ for the putting on such a wonderful gala!
I was happy to host Jashanpreet Kaur from @MauzerollGroup through a @CreateCorrect award! She worked with @Biesinger and @SurfSciWestern to excel her XPS peak fitting skills in our @_C2MCI project to find better corrosion protective coatings.
Check out this quick video from Jeremy (a recent PhD graduate) and Bastian (current post-doc) on their work tracking Li ions to create more efficient batteries, which was done at the CLS!
Researchers from @mcgillu and @UQAM used the CLS to develop a new approach to making inexpensive batteries that not only hold large amounts of charge but also recharge quickly. The super bright light enabled the team to see inside a working battery. lightsource.ca/public/news/20…
At the 244th ECS meeting in Gothenburg, our students presented about Pa hydride microelectrodes, protection of Cu/Cu powder with carbenes, SECCM of Al alloys, and fitting kinetics of surface features using SECM.
Our group members Yuanjiao, Jashanpreet, Hu, and Nathaniel are in Gothenburg, Sweden for the 244th ECS Meeting to present their work!
