Rain has nearly spread across the entirety of Middle Tennessee. Crossville has already measured 1.60" of rainfall, Nashville is at 0.75" and Clarksville is at 0.43". These amounts will continue to climb as rainfall persists throughout the day and tonight and into the weekend.

We will be in a Flood Watch From 7 PM CDT tonight through Saturday Morning.

Expected rainfall totals resulting from Tropical Cyclone Helene range from 2 to 5" across Middle Tennessee. The Northern part of Maury County is expected to get 3-4" while the Southern part is expecting 4-5".

From NWS Nashville - Winds will strengthen this afternoon with gusts of 30 to 40 mph expected. While not as strong, Friday will also feature gusty winds of 20 to 30 mph. Be sure to secure any lightweight and loose outdoor objects

Heavy rain is still the main impact from this tropical system. Rain will become widespread as the day progresses. Heaviest rain will be today & Friday with totals of 3-5 inches across the west. A Flood Watch is in effect for portions of western Middle TN until Saturday morning.

Tropical Storm Francine is expected to impact Middle Tennessee later this week/weekend. Expected rainfall totals range from around 1" along the Cumberland Plateau, to 2-3" across the Nashville Metro Area, to 3-4" in areas near the Tennessee River. Our severe risk is very low.

Overall severe threat today is low, but storms could pack a gusty wind punch with very heavy downpours. Similar to yesterday, storms could dump a quick 1" of rain, so localized flooding is possible. Nothing to break plans over, just keep an eye to the sky.
