Raising 3 kids and farming at Munglinup, Western Australia. Cattle, Cropping and a bit of Hay Contracting. Politically opinionated but not rude about it.

I’ve heard of rain moths and drought moths but what’s this one? Snow?

Harvest banned until 5, moisture through the roof by six. Sigh……

No greater relief in farming than seeing the first load of the season make grade. Let that be a sign of many to come.

Harvesting with ocean views. Lovely until the sea breeze hits.

Expecting to go through a fair few of these things this summer. New wrapper should pay for itself in no time.

Passive aggressive fencing. Neighbours please keep your vermin on your side.

This year little miss chose the colour

Lovely 21.5mm and we have found our way to the “eye of the storm”. Chances of another 20? Wouldn’t complain.

Newish Marshall spreader owners….. Chain belt or endless floor. Which way did you go and why?

Conflicted (con•flic•ted): How farmers feel when the wind stops blowing for the first time in 2 weeks, but it’s raining so they still can’t spray.

Anyone had anything to do with JVA fence energisers? Cheap or good value?

600km away on holiday but….. The farm weather station is telling me 46mm, a nearby govt stations telling me nearly 80mm… All in the last 12hrs You won’t hear me talking about a lack of soil moisture anymore. For those waiting still I feel you. Spreading urea worked for me.

Waking up with a big sigh of relief. Biggest 24hr rain of the season by a long shot!

'And his [Murray Watt's] latest cynical ploy is to claim that live export only accounts for one per cent of the agriculture industry in WA. I’m not sure whether this comment is the product of ignorance or malevolence. Or perhaps both. The fact is live sheep export forms one of…

Retweet show everyone how outdated animal activists footage is

The real sheep live export trade: Footage from recent Middle East voyages. Industry improvements: lower mortality rates, better ventilation, more space. Tech upgrades like automated temp loggers & welfare measures on every voyage. Major investment in research & training. 🐑🌱

One more cheeky canola then back to barley. Chose to keep the cows on the stubble and protect juvenile pastures. Makes for a handy TOS trial in this shitty start of a season.

Any ag in inclined readers have an idea what contract boom spray rates are per ha.

Just got quoted $700/ton for oaten hay. I’m all for a seasonal mark up but the word extortion springs to mind.

Here’s hoping with LE being banned all the animal activists move off to the countries that will pick up the industry. The “not in my backyard” mentality is mind boggling. Animal welfare “champions” are celebrating a net global reduction in welfare standards. Dumb…

I have never ever felt so disappointed in any government as I have with the Australian Labor Party, @AlboMP and @MurrayWatt What a bunch of spineless jellyfish. Not only have you tried to divide our country, you are destroying agriculture in WA all for inner city votes. FU both.
