Sabres down 3-2 after two periods. Some second intermission reading from earlier today: Sabres stock watch: Who's trending up, who's trending down through 16 games? One player trending up has already scored again for Buffalo tonight @TheAthleticNHL: nytimes.com/athletic/59206…
Tough start for the Sabres. Jordan Binnington stopped a few Grade A chances from Buffalo, and then the Blues get a goal from Brandon Saad on a shot from the slot. Sabres down 1-0.
Tonight's projected lineup against the Blues. #LetsGoBuffalo
The Buffalo Sabres have claimed goaltender James Reimer off waivers from Anaheim.
Lindy Ruff said Tage Thompson and Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen are day to day and both are possibilities to play on Thursday. Mattias Samuelsson will be out longer. Ruff said Samuelsson's injury will be weeks but he should return this season and won't require surgery.

No sign of Tage Thompson, Mattias Samuelsson or Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen at Sabres practice. All three failed to finish the game on Monday with injuries.
James Reimer is 0-2 with a 4.5 goals against average and .864 save percentage. But he spent camp with the Sabres and would give them some needed veteran depth in the organization. One to watch. He can only go to Rochester if Buffalo is the only team to put in a claim.

Tage Thompson and Mattias Samuelsson got injured. Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen came into the game with an "ailment." The Sabres lost an ugly, 7-5 game to one of the worst teams in the NHL. Wrote about another lousy day for Buffalo's professional hockey team: nytimes.com/athletic/59161…
The Sabres had one (1) high-danger chance at five-on-five against the Canadiens and only two at all strengths. The Canadiens came into the game allowing the third most high-danger chances at five-on-five in the NHL. The Sabres still got five goals. And still lost 7-5.
Lindy Ruff said Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen had a "little bit of an ailment" that happened during practice yesterday. He thought it was impacting his play, which is why he pulled him from the game after two periods.
Sabres coach Lindy Ruff said he has no update on Tage Thompson and Mattias Samuelsson yet.
Canadiens' first shot of the third period (and the first shot Devon Levi saw) came more than 10 minutes in and it was a goal. Sabres and Canadiens tied at 5 in a chaotic hockey game. Some Go Habs Go chants from the healthy crowd of Canadiens fans that made the trip to Buffalo.
Rasmus Dahlin blasts one from the point on the power play, and the Sabres have tied the game at 4.
Tage Thompson and Mattias Samuelsson both have lower body injuries and will not return. Lindy Ruff also pulled Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen. Devon Levi in net to start the third period.
The Sabres just allowed two goals 22 seconds apart in the final minute of the second period. They now trail the Canadiens 4-3. That's a piss poor way to close out a period against what is supposed to be an inferior opponent.
Mattias Samuelsson is now heading to the Sabres' dressing room. Buffalo is already without Tage Thompson who left the game earlier.
Tage Thompson has played just one shift in the second period and isn't currently on the Sabres' bench. Buffalo has a 3-2 lead.
