Stressed brains can't learn, think, or make the best decisions. It does not have the ability to absorb and retain information. How it does have the ability to learn is how safe it feels within its environment. Educators need to know this. Basic neuroscience. 🧠🌱

Repressing pupils emotions means you're harming their health. Micromanagement strategies telling children not to be angry, impulsive, or irrational is also repressing their immune system. We need to teach them to make sense of their experience, not push it down.🧠🌱

Many of the kids I work with get bullied on the footy field (IRL). Denying them friends and a broader social network because we don’t think it’s ‘real’ is pretty cruel. See @liltove’s seminal work in Autcraft for why virtual spaces matter for neurodivergent kids (and others)
Albo: "Parents want their kids off their phones and on the footy field. So do I." What if your kid isn't into sport? Not all kids are sporty. Some like geeking out making video edits for YouTube It's just such a narrow, suburban view of how the world should work. gah!
