In healthy, God-honoring church revitalization, it isn’t enough to simply be a strong visionary leader. You must also be a loving shepherd. Who cares where you want to take the church if the sheep won’t follow you because they don’t trust you.
Some may disagree, but my encouragement to lead pastors: Don’t build your church around “a” preacher, no matter how gifted you are. Build it around a team of faithful pastor-preachers. It will be far healthier for you and your congregation over the long haul.
If the loss of wealth or prestige or position in this world devastates us, can we honestly say we are content with God‘s will? If we sincerely desire to be devoted to God, we will let God‘s providence teach us the uncertainty and instability of earthly pleasures. Kris Lundgaard

As pastors, we are in trouble if our leaders (including ourselves) are more excited about a strategic planning meeting than a prayer meeting.

Pastor, regardless of how many people showed up this morning…whether a large crowd or small…remember that what pleases the Lord is your faithfulness. Faithfulness to His Word, faithfulness in loving, feeding, and leading His people. May you find joy in faithfulness!
I am grateful for formal education. But let us not believe for a second that having a ton of worldly knowledge attained from formal education is the same thing as having wisdom. Many so called “educated” people lack true wisdom, while many “uneducated” are filled with it.

Pastor, if you don’t already have one, let me urge you to start a weekly prayer meeting at your church. In doing so, you will be leading the way in prioritizing before both your people and your Lord the absolute necessity and power of seeking God’s face in dependent prayer.
The need for church revitalization has never been greater in our country. The number of dying churches is staggering. I am so thankful for the seminaries around our country that are intentionally seeking to address and tackle this issue head on. We need others to get in the game.
