Mental health support by Sophina Mariette. Art featurerd on the back cover of our summer issue.
How to diagnose a woman with EUPD: - throw her into crisis, a large body of water will do - if she fights out of it, or floats, she has EUPD - if she drowns and dies, she didn't have EUPD and lessons will be learned and our condolences are with her family at this time
“She doesn’t think she has EUPD” “They never do. It’s almost diagnostic” “You’ve got EUPD” “No I don’t” …

"Way of self-harming as opposed to an actual eating disorder." I'm still not sure about the logic here. But thanks, EPUT - I almost died 🙃

"I had to pull down my trousers and my knickers, and I was quite shocked at the time but you can't really question it, because you don't have any power in that situation" Really proud to have contributed to these guidelines. @hatporter 👏 bbc.co.uk/news/uk-englan…
After the most enormous amount of work, we are finally sharing the findings from my research on experiences of menstrual health in psychiatric inpatient settings in England. This includes the report, guidelines for services and Easy Read summary 1/ nsun.org.uk/resource/menst…
Thank you Eleanor and Sophina for speaking out too and thank you @bloodygood__ and @CareQualityComm Now it's time for real action to be taken to address these harms and injustices patients face
Thank you @R_Stonehouse for covering this story about my research published with @NSUNnews yesterday. NHS England seemed to have declined to comment. BBC News - Psychiatric patients denied period products 'for safety reasons' bbc.co.uk/news/uk-englan…
"Care and treatment must only be provided with the consent of the relevant person." "CQC must refuse registration if providers cannot satisfy us that they can and will continue to comply with this regulation." EPUT (september 2023): "contesting as don't need consent."
Central and North West London trust have the contract to manage mental health and primary care service in the area's prison services and use Oxevision in clinical assessment units. Here's a damning review from HMP Woodhill's recent inspection about the blanket use of Oxevision
“The purpose of this paper is to show that the presence of a tattoo can serve to indicate the presence of a personality disorder” Please tell me again how personality disorder is a valid scientific construct not based on arbitrary social norms… scholarlycommons.law.northwestern.edu/cgi/viewconten…
I'm not the biggest activist when it comes to the '#EUPD #PD #PersonalityDisorder' diagnosis'. Partly because I can not see the relevance of changing a name without changing pervasive negative views, misunderstandings and stigma. Nor can I see the value in dropping the label…
This comment from a mental health nurse shows the catch-22 people find themselves in. Someone can literally openly plan their own death and will still be viewed as seeking attention in some way.
Imagine a stranger, with no experience, no DBS check, watching footage of you in your bedroom at your most vulnerable. Watching you on a screen having a MH crisis, sleeping and possible getting dressed without your consent. This is the reality of Oxevision.
Job advert for a Junior Data Annotator at Oxehealth Extremely concerning That ‘data’ is video images of patients in their bedrooms in NHS psychiatric wards. Many of whom are being filmed against their will. simplyhired.co.uk/job/jhadB14ca3…

Support for mental health and wellbeing is not the same as treatment for mental illness. There has been an explosion of awareness about the former and a diversion of attention and resources away from the latter.
‘Like an animal in a cage’: The NHS nurse subjected to ‘degrading’ mental healthcare Thank you @Rachel_Luby for telling your story Why are caged vans used in #mentalhealthcare ? independent.co.uk/news/health/nh…
No. No one is entitled to anyone’s trust. Being mistrustful is not pathology. It’s self-preservation.
my care coordinator just told me a symptom of my EUPD is not trusting psychiatrists/police/social workers and I’m too “paranoid and fearful”. So I have an “unstable and intense interpersonal relationship” with…the State???
"The hospital doctor smirked as he changed my diagnosis from bipolar to borderline personality disorder – BPD. And with that, the validity of my madness was gone." from the article Too Much by @iamzoekristin Art by @mud_the_kid asylummagazine.org/2023/03/too-mu… #MentalInkness
