New @IPCC_CH Synthesis Report released One of the most impressive figures relates to the fairness across generations. The generation of my kids born in 2010s will face substantially more heatwaves, heavy rainfall and droughts during an average lifetime than their grandparents.

Heads up to everyone in the Reno area! An intense band of snowfall moving into the city will be capable of producing 1-2" snowfall rates over the next several hours. A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 4 AM PST Wednesday.

When I joined @DRIScience last year, my friends were concerning: 1) Can you focus on research in Vegas; 2) is there any flood in a desert? I don't know the answer for the first one yet, but our recently study published at @AMS_JHM answered the second one. shorturl.at/cU078

Major atmospheric-river FAMILY (5+ ARs in a row) headed into OR/WA for the holidays. Due to combination of intensity & long (72 hr) duration, event qualifies as AR-5 level storm. @CW3E_Scripps cw3e.ucsd.edu/cw3e-ar-update…
