It’s incredibly encouraging to see this trend in submissions from female authors over the past few years in this plot. This reflects positive progress towards greater gender representation in peace science.
In this thread, we're taking a closer look at Sage's data on submissions from female authors. While submissions are still lower than those from male authors, there has been a clear upwards trajectory since 2015!
Research Notes can be up to 6,000 words and are perfect for shorter pieces of work that don’t quite fit as full articles. They could apply existing theories to new data, propose conceptual innovations without close empirical analysis, or share advances in methodology.

This plot presents total submissions by male and female authors since 2015. There is a disproportionate number of submissions from male researchers, who have consistently submitted more papers. However, this plot also shows that submissions from female scholars are on the rise.
