Watching our SIP come alive with our first school-wide Thoughtful Thursday. All of MPS stopped at 9:10 to do a short gentle yoga stretch and take a minute to breathe. Health & Wellness is so important this school year and we are so happy to be able to share this with our kids.

Today we had a special guest call in! Students learned all about firefighting and wild fires this week from news articles. They came up with questions and got answers from an actual firefighter! Having a firefighter husband comes in handy!
Hopped on the pop it craze!! Practicing our VCE words using pop it’s. One student popped down a word and the others had to figure out what it was.
Started the day with a question that turned into a lesson! Students wanted to know how old I would be when they are my current age.
Silent reading to work on our reading stamina. Love watching the process and seeing them move to book reviews when they finish a book. Our binder of reviews is getting heavy!! #40bookchallenge
Embraced the mess today!! Made 3D models of each type of community.
SO proud of my students for their amazing behavior at specials! A full sweep!! They were rewarded by getting their first desk pets 🧡

We are very egg-cited to have Bubbles, Pumpkin, Snickers and Top Dog join our class before my kiddos fly the coop for summer vacation!
Today I learned that I can fit 50 mini marshmallows in my mouth and 3 peeps. When my dentist asks why I have so many cavities I will tell him it’s because we teach measurement in 2nd grade!
Our class had the honor of having @MissFrederickMD be a guest reader for Read Across America!! She read Who You Were Made to Be by @joannagaines!!! What a great message ❤️
