Thank you to everyone who has supported Falls Awareness Week 2024. As we go Into Saturday and Sunday think about ‘Safety’ and what extra mitigations you can put in place to keep people safe in hospital or their own homes to help reduce the risk of falls.

Falls risk assessments, care plans and bedrail risk assessments are important for keeping people safe whilst in hospital or at home. Remember in hospital these risk assessments are completed on admission, transfer, weekly, post fall or change in condition.

An increasing number of falls happen whilst people are mobilising to and from the bathroom or in the bathroom itself. Encourage the use of call bells and asking for assistance if needed. #calldontfall
