Glind only needing liquids to survive (and lacking gender) is similar to Namekians, who can get by on just water. The shot of the Glind Tree also includes several Namekian-style ships and houses, so it’s probably safe to assume Namekians likewise come from the Second Demon World.
(There’s also Elder Kaioshin being a perv, though maybe he gets that from the witch he’s fused with. I guess you could say they have gender identity without biological sex. Oh, and North Kaio can apparently pee standing up. Obviously it’s all rather complicated)
Shin’s race lacking genders was another detail Toriyama gave in the Super Exciting Guide. The DBZ anime’s West Kaioshin was described as a woman in Daizenshuu 7, but when her bio was updated for Chouzenshuu 4 (which incorporates SEG info) this was switched to “looks like a woman”
Toriyama introduced the idea of Shin’s race growing on trees in 2009’s Super Exciting Guide, though some details are different: there the race is called Core People (Shin-jin) and grow from the World Tree. Daima’s Glind (Gurindo) is an anagram of donguri, Japanese for “acorn”.
