Today at the art center, our students created "Blow-Art Creatures" using paint, straws and googly eyes! Process based art is full of creativity! What does your creature look like? #processart #kindergartenmatters @McLennan1977 @LPSStormWatch @uwindsored

Today was my last day in room 203, it was such a bittersweet feeling. I’m so happy to have been a part of such an amazing school community and FDK family. I’m going to miss all the fun we’ve had together over the past 4 weeks 💖

We’ve started to count our pumpkin seeds this week! Everyone’s so pumped to find out how many we have in each of our pumpkins. 😁🎃

Our estimation station! We had so much fun estimating how many loose parts were in our containers!

Pumpkin Inquiry Cont’d: Next week we’ll be working on estimation! Today we set up a fun provocation focusing on our pumpkins seeds. This week we focused on the outside of our pumpkins, next week we’ll be focusing on the inside to foster our estimation skills.😁🔎

Pumpkin Inquiry Cont’d: Over the week we asked our kinders to write down what they wanted to name our pumpkins, today we picked 4 names out of a container! This fosters a sense of belonging and contributing.

Pumpkin Inquiry Cont’d: Over the past week we have been counting our 4 pumpkins lines & recording our answers. This activity has been assessing our kinders on their one-to-one correspondence and their counting on skills (adding 2 each time).😊🎃

The beginning of our kindergarten pumpkin inquiry! Incorporating math with pumpkins is fun and relatable to students - especially at this time of year!
