Seen the movie, reading the book today at the library
4 issues and one of the most iconic artists to ever do it is crazy
I think it's kind of crazy that David Mazzucchelli only drew 4 issues of Batman, I think he also did a back up but that's about it. But with the sheer artistry involved in Batman: Year One I bet you could spend years just trying to figure out how he did it

The thing that makes this great is he’s not “earning the costume.” He’s playing dress up to look squeaky clean in a ploy for more power, and he’s so removed from any authentic involvement in that world that his reference point for class and sophistication is Fred Astaire movies
This Show was so good that I forgive them for the “has to earn the comic accurate suit” cliche

The Battle of Muspelheim. Pencils. 61.5 x 40. 2024. The pencils are more or less done. I expect I'll be tweaking stuff here and there as I ink the drawing, but this is about it. Thankfully. :-D The drawing is a commission so not for sale.

Cover process! I loved that writer @ryanqnorth set this issue in WWI, so I wanted to homage this famous photo from that terrible war. I wanted the FF to be down in the grime of the trenches. And why is Black Knight there?! Find out in January. Thumbnail, pencils, inks.
