End-of-week shoutout to my @mprnews colleague @msepic, who pivots from nuanced coverage of Minnesota courts to effortless translation of nuclear physics from one day to the next. mprnews.org/story/2023/03/…

St. Paul says it's exploring this route and plans to put out an RFP this year. mprnews.org/story/2023/03/…

It's really hard to actually listen to the stories we air when directing the show. Lots of juggling going on to make sure the next part of the show is ready. But my ears always soak hers in. Will miss her storytelling.

UPDATE: Minnesota House repasses the bill to provide a no-charge school breakfast and lunch to all students each day. Vote was 71-54. It's on its way to @GovTimWalz, who says he'll sign the bill soon after he receives it. #mnleg

. @govtimwalz says he hopes to sign the universal school lunch/breakfast bill by Friday if #mnleg can get it to him. He mentions a March 17 deadline for getting a program in place for next school year. House needs to have one more vote on bill, but it could happen today.

I am really liking the look of the European and American GFS models' temperatures for next week. A string of 40s is likely next week. If we hit 50F at MSP it will be the warmest day in almost 4 months. #mnwx

Mpls-based @soonastudios CEO @lizgiorgi says the Silicon Valley Bank collapse story isn't as simple as tech bros losing money. SVB bet on women and BIPOC founders when traditional banks wouldn't. And w/fewer options, they stayed put while others ran. mprnews.org/story/2023/03/…

“We talk a lot in society about self-care, and so much of that got put back on the frontline workers, like, ‘Make sure you're taking care of yourself while you take of care everybody else.’ I think we have to find a way to take care of the caregivers.” mprnews.org/story/2023/03/…

Junauda Petrus turned her poem, "Can We Please Give the Police Department to the Grandmothers" into a children's book. It's out in April. You can hear the poem in this 2020 piece I help South High students produce. I loved it so much. 🤗mprnews.org/story/2020/12/…
