What magic do they use to distill water at normal atp??? Anyhoo, let’s hope someone has analyzed the cost vs. benefit of the project. At commercial scale burning grass doesn’t sound environmentally appealing.
It Looks like they dissolve the salt in the soil by running water thru it, creating a salt solution,(this is dissolution, not distillation). They then evaporate the salt solution to get pure salt, not Iodated salt. They'd need to add iodine to make it iodated. Great initiative!

📍Kaimbwe (Kasepmpa District) a.k.a “The Land of Salt” ("Mukele wa Kaimbwe"). This unique salt-making process among the Kaonde-speaking people dates as far back as the 1800s and has been passed on from one generation to the next.
They need to also be helped with pattents for these innovations before some foreign entity comes and hijacks it
