ADUs hold a lot of promise as a way to increase the housing density of American neighborhoods with scare supply. The West coast is leading the way in permits issued. But the plurality of these permits have been issued in one area: Los Angeles.

Why don't architects advertise more? I see ads all over cities for Real Estate agents but rarely, if ever, do I see an ad for an architecture firm other than the occasional site sign on a construction fence. Why not invest in advertising to build aware…lnkd.in/gd53UzmB


This is fantastic. Let's hope all states adopt similar laws to allow ADUs nationwide.

Here's the full list of HB 1337's ADU reforms within urban growth areas in cities and counties statewide. All told, I'd argue that it's right up there with CA's statewide ADU policy. If WA had gone a bit further lifting parking mandates, it would have been the best in nation.
