My favourite Korean idiom is a version of “looking for a needle in a haystack” that goes 서울에 가서 김서방 찾기. It means “searching for a Mr. Kim in Seoul”
Playfully talking about sleepiness 1. 졸음이 몰려와요. (Jolmeum-i mollyeowayo.) - "Sleepiness is coming over me." 2. 잠이 쏟아져요. (Jami ssodajyeoyo.) - "Sleep is pouring over me." 3. 스르르 졸려요. (Seureureu jollyeoyo.) - "I’m dozing off slowly."
Why are there so many beautiful languages in the world, but so little time for them?! I need to learn so many Slavic languages, plus Mongolian, German, Thai, Cantonese, and all the Chinese languages! Seriously, I need more than 24 hours in a day!
i ❤️ helping people with language learning… it really is all about picking up on patterns and eventually shifting your mindset into thinking in that language instead of translating back and forth in your mind & many are more capable of this than they realize

People often ask me "why would you learn _____? it's useless". What happened to intellectual stimulation, curiosity and love of study? Also, whether a language is useless or not depends greatly on the context and one's goals. #langtwt
