the city’s quarterback is funding the public schools with AC bc they mayors office is too busy trying to fund a silly goofy basketball arena

Jalen Hurts has been donating $5,000 for every TD this season to provide air conditioning in Philadelphia public schools. With his four TDs against Dallas, he reached the $100,000 milestone. At the start of the school year, there were still 63 additional schools requiring…

your turn, Boston! Broker fees forced on renters need to go. @MayorWu @katjballantyne

Welp it finally happened! After decades of NYC tenants being forced to pay countless $ of their hard earned money for brokers whom they didn’t want or need, the tenants of NYC will no longer be forced to pay brokers fees The NYC brokerage mafia has been dismantled as we know it!

If you support eliminating the Department of Education, you do not support our students. Period. @USEDgov provides funding for: ✅Students w/ disabilities ✅Rural students ✅Programs that make college affordable This would be bad for students, and bad for America.

To everyone who is afraid of what happens next, I share your fears. But what we do next is important. We have to learn from what happened. And then, make a plan. As we confront a second Trump presidency, here’s a path forward: 🧵

To be clear, it's never really a matter of whether or not we're effed. It's a matter of how much we're effed. We STILL have a say in that.

The America is All In coalition of subnational and non-state actors still committed to climate action now represents 65% of US population and 68% of GDP. As cities and regions strengthen their resolve globally, it’s time to give them a formal voice in international talks. (5/10)

I mean this when I say I empathize with people's pain and fear but your panic is white supremacy parading as care if you're not doing anything to make a difference, however small. your panic about politics is only as useful as what you're willing to plant to build a better world.

you make us proud, @Penn students!

Whoa. This is the line to vote at the University of Pennsylvania before polls even open. Young people are fired up & turning out. Gen Z is going to save us.

Much of this is anecdotal, but I don't think it can be dismissed either. If Harris wins PA, I think it's because of the Philly turnout operation.

I love them all 🥹

What I see. A very long line of UPenn students barely after polls opened at 7am, so excited to vote. Students are smiling & taking selfies of their voting experience. This gives me so much hope & it should give you hope too.

I know scientists are busy and the Supreme Court doesn’t seem like the biggest news in the US even of the last two days. But I’m begging US scientists: You must read this article about Chevron and the SCOTUS attack on agencies. B/c it’s coming for us. 1/ #Science

**Importantly**, none were giving up. There has been climate progress and “every tenth of a degree matters a lot – this means it is still useful to continue the fight” said one. 12/n

So, I guess, we're just all very lucky to have people working their asses of to address climate change even though, apparently, it will go unnoticed and not sway anyone to vote for them because we're too busy being snarky on a website.
