This seems to be the only major franchise with this mindset; it's as though the mediocre '90s dub is the benchmark for all storytelling no matter how many 20-year veteran TV writers Capcom hires. It doesn't seem to exist with Halo which also has complex supplemental lore.

After about 4 hours with it, Silent Hill 2 is kind of amazing. Graphically impressive, great voice acting and awesome subversion of expectation for series vets. The way locations snake back around on themselves feels very RE1 Remake. I'm really happy with it so far.
